The 9th Tasting Vodkas organized by the nationwide trade magazine „Rynki Alkoholowe” is already behind us. On Friday, May 26, the best products in the category were selected and awarded at Mio Piano Restaurant in Toruń. This year’s competition, both among pure vodkas as well as in the group of flavoured vodkas and flavoured spirits, stood at the highest level. After counting the points awarded by the jury, the gold medal in the category of pure vodkas went to... Finland Vodka from the portfolio of Brown-Forman Polska Sp. z o.o. in the category of flavoured vodkas and flavoured spirit products, the victory was clear and unmistakable. The gold medal was won by Starka 30 Banquet produced by Szczecińska Fabryka Wódek Starka. The jury was delighted by the vodka and awarded it with the highest number of points among all the products submitted for this year’s tasting. The jury also decided to award the gold medal in the special category „For innovation.” It was received by Stolichnaya Salted Karamel (from Stoli Group portfolio). The exclusive distributor of Stolichnaya brand in Poland is ML Spirits Sp. z o.o. from Katowice. The problem for the jury was to unambiguously evaluate the vodka Amber inside Vodka (the owner of this brand is Robert Krawiec DM Group). It came in among pure vodkas; among them it also won a silver medal last year during the London competition. However, the jury found that the amber closed inside clearly influences its flavour, though not to the degree that it was noticeable in flavoured vodkas... Finally, after a short discussion, Amber inside Vodka received the special „Out of style” award. The tasting was traditionally „blind,” so the jury did not know samples of which brands and manufacturers they were evaluating.
