Limited partnership of the Żywiec Group |
The Management of the Żywiec Group has passed a resolution on creation of a limited partnership, in which the partnership Group shall be a limited partner and Żywiec Sprzedaż i Dystrybucja Company – an active partner. The newly established partnership shall manage the trademarks of Żywiec SA.

Sequel of the privatisation of Polmos Companies |
The Vice Minister of the State Treasury Joanna Schmid, has announced a tender in October for a purchase of 85% of the shares of the Polmos Companies in Bielsko-Biała and Józefów. Amendment of the act on commercialisation and privatisation introduced a change in calculation of a number of shares. The Minister of Finance doesn’t disclose the prepared evaluation of the companies. Completion of the privatisation of the both Polmos Companies is planned this year.

Opportunity for Polmos Company of Szczecin |
The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection has not affirmed that a possibility to write off the debts of Szczecińska Wytwórnia Wódek “Polmos” violated the regulations on public aid. The opinion of the OCCP opens a way to negotiate with creditors. The Polmos Company of Szczecin is presently in debt of over 40 M PLN. The debt hindered the privatisation for 10 years. The main creditors of the company are Bank Gospodarki Żywnościowej, Customs Chamber and Tax Office.

Good prognosis for Polish vodka in USA |
The Polish vodkas overseas may count on a growth despite a general consumption drop in America as the crisis concerns mainly local producers of brands from medium price shelf. Chopin from the Polmos Siedlce portfolio and also Sobieski owned by Belvedere Group are among the best selling vodkas from the super premium segment. According to the estimates, total consumption of imported vodkas shall raise overseas as much as by 5%.

Goldwasser shall disappear from the market |
The “Polmos” Company of Poznań stopped a production of Goldwasser vodka. This spirit will be produced only in Germany. The company has changed the policy and is going to focus on the leading markets from its portfolio keeping at the same time the trademark of the withdrawn vodka. Production of Goldwasser finally stopped in June this year. The market still has some reserves of the spirit.

The Supervising Council of Żywiec Group has appointed a new member of the management |
Maciej Mitoraj, a graduate of the Faculty of Management and Marketing of the University of Economics in Poznań, has become a new member of the Żywiec SA Group’s Management. In March this year, Maciej Mitoraj occupied a position of Marketing Director.

The beer crisis the reason for dismissals |
The drop in beer sale observed in the first half this year at the level of 12.5% is to inevitably leading to redundancy in the industry. Kompania Piwowarska has already announced redundancy of around 190 employees. The Management started negotiations with the workers council and the unions. Such drastic drop in the market shall also force breweries to reduce production powers. The beer market development prognosis is not optimistic at all.

Spaniards drink less wine |
Wine consumption in Spain dropped over the year by nearly 22%. Mainly price rises and economic crisis are blamed for the recession of the market segment. The Spanish wine industry undergoes one of the worst moments in its history. Wine reserves remain in many warehouses and wine sale this year may decrease even by one tenth.
